Kentish Hops
There are only 5 farms left in Kent producing hops for commercial beer making. Tony Redsell is a top hop grower. He cultivates East Kent Goldings and Fuggles at his farm near Faversham in Kent where he has been farming for 60 years. Before mechanical picking machines were invented in the 1930’s, Londoners would flood to Kent to pick the hops to earn money during the harvest times.
