The Coriander Club, Spitalfields
Lutfun Hassein is the project co-ordinator at Spitalfields City Farm, founder of the Coriander Club Women’s Gardening Group and reigning champion of the Spitalfield's Show and Green Fair. The club grows a wide variety of food in the polytunnel greenhouses such as bottle gourds, cucumbers, pumpkins and chilli plants together with herbs, tomatoes and salads outside in raised beds. The women adapt indigenous Bangladeshi produce to a British climate. The club was established in 2003 to help the local Bangladeshi Women with feelings of isolation, depression and to promote healthy eating. The women take the produce home on the days they work.
