The Aylesbury Estate, Southwark, England (2002-2005)
The environmental organisation, Sustainable Energy Action (now Carbon Descent), received government funding (NDC, SRB, SEED) to set up and manage projects to regenerate the Aylesbury Estate and surrounding areas in South East London. This estate is in an area rich in culture but renowned for being rundown and deprived. Between 2002 and 2005 I set up and documented about 12 projects that ranged from the production of a Real Nappy Video with Surestart to community gardening and food growing schemes. The images were then exhibited on the internal TV screens of London buses. The bus routes were selected to run through the areas of regeneration.
